1. Executive Summary

Setu Kendra ("we", "us", "our") is dedicated to building secure, high-utility, and privacy-respecting tools for Bharat. Our applications, including "Library Setu" (com.setukendra.libraryapp), "PDF Setu", "Image Setu", "VartaSetu", and "Kartvya" (com.kartvya), are built with a "local-first" design philosophy. This means data processing happens on your device rather than external servers, ensuring you retain total ownership and privacy of your digital assets.

This policy governs our website (setukendra.in) and all apps distributed via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other platforms. We are committed to transparency and adherence to international privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA).

2. Information We Collect (and What We Don't)

What We DO NOT Collect

We believe that what is on your device should stay on your device. Across our utility application suite:

  • ✕No Sensitive Personal Data: We do not collect or store your passwords, government identity card details, or bio-metrics.
  • ✕No Local Files: Any PDF documents processed by PDF Setu, images compressed by Image Setu, books cataloged in Library Setu, or data processed by Kartvya remain on your device.
  • ✕No Address Book / Contacts: We do not access, sync, or transmit your device's contacts or phonebook.
  • ✕No Media Content: Photos and video files edited or organized within our apps are processed client-side and never uploaded.

Minimal Data We May Process

For standard operation, performance optimization, and application maintenance, minimal non-identifiable logs may be processed:

  • •Diagnostic Logs: Device configuration, crash reports (e.g., via standard Android/iOS platform trackers), app version, and rendering performance metadata.
  • •Standard Web Metrics: On our website (setukendra.in), standard telemetry like browser type, screen resolution, referral pages, and duration of visit.

3. Local Processing & Storage Disclosure

Our applications utilize modern sandbox environments provided by the mobile operating system (iOS and Android) and web standards (HTML5 LocalStorage and IndexedDB).

Any data saved within our applications (such as cataloged books in Library Setu, tasks/data in Kartvya, or application configuration settings) is stored using secure sandboxed databases (like AsyncStorage or SQLite). This data remains strictly inside the application container allocated to Setu Kendra apps. External applications or third parties cannot access this sandbox without your explicit OS-level permission. Deleting the application from your device permanently removes all sandboxed files and offline databases.

To serve contextually relevant and non-intrusive advertisements on our website. AdSense uses cookies (like the DoubleClick cookie) to display ads based on users' visits to setukendra.in and other sites on the web.

You can opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) or using cookie-blocking browser extensions.

Google Analytics

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our applications are designed as general-purpose utilities and do not target children under the age of 13. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly request, collect, or store any personal data from children.

If a parent or guardian discovers that a child has provided us with any information without consent, please contact us immediately. We will promptly delete such records from our logs.

6. Apple App Store & Google Play Disclosures

In compliance with Apple's Section 5.1 Rules regarding user data control, we state the following:

Data Retention & Deletion

For local-first utility apps that do not require user accounts, deleting the application from your device permanently purges all sandboxed offline data. For applications in our ecosystem that support user account creation (such as Library Setu and Kartvya), we provide an in-app "Delete Account" option under settings to allow users to completely delete their account and associated data. Alternatively, users can request account and data deletion by contacting us at rajeshbishnoi110@gmail.com.

Right to Access & Portability

Because all data is stored on your own device, you possess total access to it. You can back up or transfer your files directly via your operating system's native backup systems (iTunes, iCloud, Google Backup).

Consent Controls

Our apps respect your system-level permissions. If an app requests camera or gallery access (e.g., to scan a book barcode in Library Setu, select an image in Image Setu, or manage files in Kartvya), the permission is invoked dynamically. You can revoke this access at any time in system settings.

GDPR & CCPA Rights

For users accessing our website or apps from the European Union (EU/EEA) or California (USA), we respect your statutory rights to data minimization, rectification, and restricted processing. Since we collect zero tracking/identifiable personal data, our system operates on a privacy-by-design baseline.
